Killybegs Seafood Limited begun trading in 1968, producing whitefish fillets for supply to fish shops and wholesalers in Ireland as well as providing wild salmon for export markets including the UK, France and Germany. To complement the processing facilities and become strategically integrated, the company owns or contracts Irish fishing vessels to maintain a continuous supply of seafood. Today Killybegs Seafood is recognised as one of the leading pelagic seafood producers and exporters in Ireland. The company specialise in a range of pelagic fish species including Atlantic Mackerel (Scomber Scombrus), Horse Mackerel (Trachurus Trachuras), Herring (Clupea Harengus), Blue Whiting (Micromestisius Poutassou), and Sprat (Spratus Spratus). Killybegs Seafoods Limited handles in excess of 25,000 metric tonnes of raw material annually and has three onsite cold storage facilities with a 12,000 metric tonne holding capacity.
