

- The Killybegs Marine Cluster are co-hosted in collaboration with both the Scottish and Irish Government a Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Supply Chain focused event in Killybegs on the 3rd and 4th October.
The Killybegs Marine Cluster, in collaboration with Causeway Exchange, is set to co-host a Scottish-Irish government-led offshore renewable energy supply chain event on October 3rd and 4th, 2024. This event will serve as a strategic platform for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to explore commercial opportunities in offshore wind, both domestically and internationally, with a strong emphasis on collaboration between Irish and Scottish companies.
The event aims to foster cross-border partnerships, helping SMEs integrate into the offshore wind supply chain, leverage shared expertise, and position themselves for growth within this rapidly expanding industry. To ensure maximum impact, the Killybegs Marine Cluster will work closely with the Marine Ireland Industry Network (MIIN) and Gael Offshore Network to invite a targeted list of supply chain companies actively engaged in offshore wind development. This curated approach will provide high-value networking, business matchmaking, and insight-sharing opportunities, ensuring that companies attending can identify synergies, form strategic alliances, and capitalize on the growing demand for offshore wind expertise in both Ireland and Scotland.
- The Killybegs Marine Cluster together with several of KMC members will attend the Causeway Exchange Annual Awards in Edinburgh in October.
The Killybegs Marine Cluster together with our funders Enterprise Ireland and several of our members attended the Causeway Exchange Annual Awards in Edinburgh. This provided an excellent opportunity to network with Scottish companies, identify mutually beneficial opportunities for new business and collaboration. This also provided an opportunity to liaise directly with Scottish Enterprise and the Scottish Government regarding a planned Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) supply chain event planned to be hosted in Ireland and Scotland.

Both the Killybegs Marine Cluster and the ATU will attend Enterprise Ireland’s Offshore Wind Forum which takes place in the Aviva Stadium, Dublin on the 22nd October. The Killybegs Marine Cluster attended EI’s Offshore Wind Forum which provided an opportunity to raise the profile of Killybegs ecosystem in terms of our Marine Engineering capacity/capabilities. This message was strengthen by keynote speaker Martin McGuinness explaining MMG Ocean’s recent collaboration with the Scottish Partners, Ocean Kinetics. Subsea Micropiles another key note speaker spoke about their experience with working with Killybegs Marine Cluster and the world class Marine Engineering capabilities in Killybegs which will support their own growth ambitions.
The Killybegs Marine Cluster and Atlantic Technological University (ATU) attended Enterprise Irelands Offshore Wind Forum at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on October 22, 2024. This high-profile event provides a valuable platform to showcase Killybegs marine engineering expertise and supply chain capabilities, reinforcing the regions role in supporting Irelands offshore wind ambitions. A key highlight will be keynote speaker Martin McGuinness, who will emphasize MMG Oceans recent collaboration with their Scottish partners, Ocean Kinetics, demonstrating the strength of cross-border partnerships in offshore wind development. Additionally, Subsea Micropiles and other industry leaders will share their experiences working with the Killybegs Marine Cluster and its supply chain over recent months. Their testimonials will highlight Killybegs world-class marine engineering capabilities and how these expertise-driven collaborations are supporting the growth ambitions of international offshore wind stakeholders. By participating in Enterprise Irelands Offshore Wind Forum, the Killybegs Marine Cluster and ATU will further solidify Killybegs reputation as a hub for offshore wind innovation, attracting new business opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and positioning the region at the forefront of Irelands offshore wind supply chain.
