The Killybegs Marine Cluster with MMG Ocean and KER Group Exhibited at Wind Energy Ireland Trade Fair 2023

The Killybegs Marine Cluster, together with several members including MMG Ocean and KER Group exhibited at the inaugural Wind Energy Ireland Trade Fair 2023, which took place in the impressive Sports Ireland Campus, Dublin on 11th and 12th October 2023.

The Killybegs Marine Cluster presented at the WEI conference on our cluster, our ecosystem, research, development, and innovation, and how we are positioning our port to support this emerging industry, Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE). Several of the Killybegs Marine Cluster members are already very active within the ORE sector, both domestically and internationally with leaders such as Montrose Port, Harland & Wolff, Fugro, XOcean, Dublin Offshore, Simply Blue Group, etc. 

The Killybegs Marine Cluster, together with the domestic supply chain also attended Enterprise Ireland’s parent Department, DETE’s Offshore Wind Strategy Unit workshop meeting which took place in the morning on Day 1 of the WEI Trade Fair. This is the first of five workshops that will positively contribute towards the National Industrialisation Strategy on Offshore Wind. The other locations include:

  1. Wind Energy Trade Show 2023, Wednesday 11th October, between 10:30-11:45 am, at Sport Ireland Campus, Blanchardstown.

  5. Killybegs – 16th Nov, 09:00-12:00: Millenium Building, Atlantic Technological University, Killybegs, Co. Donegal 

 

The Wind Energy Ireland’s is the largest event to date – with 130 exhibitor stands, 2 stages, and attracting 1000 plus attendees. Enterprise Ireland is one of the Supporting Partners of this event.  The premise was to bring together Ireland’s growing domestic supply chain, the key players in the global wind energy industry, and cutting-edge research and innovation from Ireland and internationally, all under one roof.
